It’s a way of using the internet through virtual reality (VR). Instead of being on a computer, you would use a VR headset to access all your favourite websites.(in a nutshell)

With a VR headset, you are able play games as if you are actually in the universe that it’s set in. Similarly, the metaverse will transport you to a digital world, but instead of just gaming, you’ll be able to use it to meet up with friends, go to a concert, do some shopping – pretty much anything.
The term “metaverse” has its origins in the 1992 science fiction novel Snow Crash as a”meta” and “universe.”
Various metaverses have been developed for popular use such as virtual world platforms like Second Life. Some metaverse iterations involve integration between virtual and physical spaces and virtual economies, often including a significant interest in advancing virtual reality technology.
Now what about privacy??? Oh well social networks are involved, free, mostly, service, your personal details are online (facebook is involved as prime example!)
Another thing related to Metawerse is the NFT not fungible token…?
What is it a NFT? Basically you ,as creator, are creating a digital entity or work or project , then you are selling it and when sold the digital creation become property of the purchaser .
How this works and it is avoiding copies? well simple(?) – NFT’s are non-fungible tokens, a type of crypto token that is part of the cryptocurrency landscape. Not Fungible is leading the charge in the digital art that is taking place due to the advent of blockchain technology.
Blockchain technology is basically some sort of technology similar to Bitcoin and Etherum coin.
So you know where we are now, the same technlogy behind your crypto wallet!
However this is only the part of metaverse looking after the….payment methodology!
All the big social networks are pushing on it….big times!
Facebook has announced that it’s hiring 10,000 people to develop the metaverse.
Facebook is investing a lot of money into the project, but has said that it “won’t be built overnight by a single company” and have promised to collaborate with others to make it.
Additionally they bought Oculus a company producing VR headsets, but I’m pretty sure this will expand in a mobile enviroment as a natural evolution of the future handsets(Apple, Samsung, Lenovo, etc)

At the moment there is a prolific NFT market and peole are buying and selling at “stupid”(my opinion) prices, of course some of the digital art its actually very good…if you are into this things.
This will create a market for some genuine artists and creators….so this is a good thing!
NFT will keep the digital format as a personal property and nobody (hackers…maybe) can take it or copy away.
