Search ‘SOS messages’ in your settings – this will vary depending on which Android phone you have, but it should be under ‘advanced features’ on Samsung phones. Click on ‘send SOS messages’ to switch it on and accept the terms and conditions. Your phone will ask you to add emergency contacts to your list, and whether you would like to attach photographs and audio clips to the emergency text when it is sent out. The text of the SOS message cannot be personalised.
In future, when you press the lock button three times an SOS message will be sent out to your chosen emergency contacts, with your location also attached. On a Huawei phone, you need to press the lock button five times to activate the SOS message.
